Again, a very good time. Landed a big strong 20-21 inch wild fish on a size 20 elk hair caddis, a 16 inch hatchery fish, had 3 fish Long distance released, and whiffed it on about 15 fish. It is a great time for dry fly fishing for 14-20 inch plus springers.
The only bad aspect was all the dead salmon I have seen drift by the last 3 times. Whenever I see dead salmon in june and july float by in the barbless zone, I always see spin fisherman fishing the drain pipe hole. The DFG really really really needs to put up some signs on the side opposite the hatchery saying this hole is off limits.
