80 degrees yesterday here in the southland, so I stayed home and fished the new Diamond Valley Lake rather than try anything north as I had reserved this day for.

This is a big lake, with 260 billion gallons of water.

There are dozens of coves like this where the bass are up in the shallows right now.

I did not catch any monsters, but sure had fun with these guys, which only hit green stuff for me (olive zonkers, olive buggers). This was my third and most successful trip out there. I've never seen another fly fisherman out there, however.

Don, looks like you had a very nice time! Pretty lake without jet skis, sunny, calm day, decent bass willing to take the fly. . . would be plenty good enough for me. :) Love the pictures by the way. Nice bass too! 8)

Notice that white belly and vibrant colors on that bass in the net.

Really healthy lucking fish.
