Trinity River Diversions

With the Sacramento River near flood stage, does anyone know why they are still diverting over 2100 cfs of the Trinity River back over to the Sacramento River system?

Terry,.... Having some experience with government functions, I'd say it could be something as simple as the operators haven't coordinated their efforts or there may be a need to lower Trinity River flows (....not likely).

To be charitable, there must be a good reason or any resulting flood damage could have some liability attached for the operators. :( :(
