Be very careful what you wish for .

If the temps get real warm , real fast ....... our massive snowpack will melt all too quickly and the A will run huge and icy-cold all summer . I haven't heard much about the level of water in Folsom as of late , but I doubt it can take a whole lot more at the moment .

I hope everyone is safe out there this year ..... the A can kill you fast when it's cold .

Report on the news last night indicated that virtually all of the reservoirs in Northern California from the East Bay to the Sierra Nevada range are all, or near capacity. Every dam is releasing water at peak levels under the law...Snow packs up to 50, 60, 70+ feet are just waiting to melt...There is a great fear that the Delta levee system is in for a difficult time...Nuff said.

80 degrees yesterday here in the southland, so I stayed home and fished the new Diamond Valley Lake rather than try anything north as I had reserved this day for.

This is a big lake, with 260 billion gallons of water.

There are dozens of coves like this where the bass are up in the shallows right now.

I did not catch any monsters, but sure had fun with these guys, which only hit green stuff for me (olive zonkers, olive buggers). This was my third and most successful trip out there. I've never seen another fly fisherman out there, however.
