It's coming sooner than we will be ready. Any predictions on general locations that will be good for the opener of trout season? :fish:

I am thinking of checking out some of the smaller tribs on the west slope to see if there are any big 'uns hiding out from the FLOW.

Rain, rain, go away.... \:D/ :-({|=

Southwest Wisconsin, driftless area. 600 miles of almost untouched spring creeks is where I'm going. With so many productive lakes and big rivers in the area almost everyone fishes with hardware from a boat. No one ffing??
The last ice age "missed" this beautiful area, leaving a rugged, bluff(y), virtual spring creek hotbed.
I don't know about fishing this summer, getting my fall steelhead and pond equipment ready...

I think that the 'Bass Ponds' will be good.

Many will be fishing trout lakes at lower elevations.

Some will be looking for those low elevation little tributaries that don't drain from the crest of the Sierras.

Some will be looking at 'Spring Creeks' like Hat Creek and Fall River.

Actually this is prime time in the tropical flats for Tarpon, Bonefish and Permit down near the equator.

It is also a good time for New Zealand, Chile and Argentina for trout in there Fall.

I would not fish any big freestone trout streams myself.
