Hmmmm,.... A Toad Fly.... :? . If I recall correctly, a Toad isn't necessarily associated with water (even tho an amphibian).... 8) Wouldn't a Frog fly be better :?: :?: How many toad's are gonna fall into the water :?: :?:

The toad fly is a pet name for a tarpon fly...kinda like a cockroach. I believe Andy Mill is a big fan of this pattern. That alone says alot adout the fly.

Good article on the toad fly in there.
Been messing around with it for local saltwater action and its a pretty simple pattern. Basically a merkin meets bugger pattern without the legs.
Don't know if the name refers to the species or just slang...i.e. that corbina is a toad (i.e. friggen huge). Regardless the article is a good one and provides the history of the pattern.
