Nice little o'ios Don-- are you fishing the Teeny 6wt for them?
Aloha Jim, I was using a ticr 6wt for these. I overline with an 8wt intermediate line and it seems to be a good combination. I have been catching them down at Liliuokalani gardens. I get a couple every time I go, most has been 5. The largest to about 3lbs. It is so easy, like my own little mud flat. There are some papio and kaku in there, even one ulua to 15lbs. I haven't gotten him yet.
Hey I am going camping this weekend down south point and we are going to do some kayak and zodiac action for ono and ahi. I will post when I get back. I booked with Russ for April and am pretty psyched to hit the tsunami bouy with him. The 1st Hilo trollers tourney is April 9th and I will be entered in that. Too bad they don't have a fly division, maybe in the future. Hope the rain lets up and you can get in some time on the river.
I will be on the mainland this summer. I got a new teeny 5wt for that trip. I will be in Penn, and Yellow Breeches, then Virginia and some brook trout and smallmouth and then Martha's vineyard and stripers and blues.
Hope married life is going well, take care, Don.
