I saw this camera in the Sacbee two days ago. Its the Olympus Stylus 720 SW. It seems close
to the same as the Optio W10, except that it goes to 10 feet deep, is 7.1 megapixel, and is shock
proof. It's actually supposed to be cheaper than the Optio W10, but Amazon has the W10 for
$150 off. The Olympus sounds better, but its going to cost $100 more. I have heard great things
about Optio cameras, so I was hoping somebody would have something to say about Olympus
cameras. Any imput would help.

Hi,

I am also a Guy who did all research in Net and finally seetled in Olympus Camedia c765. Its cool though, but a professional one. It can act as a professional/nowise camera. Its bit large though, but a good match for 300-350$. A turbo image processor in it drastically reduces the file sizes and you get files within 800-900 KB. Bot its only 4 MP though.

Nikon, Canon and Olympus are all really good old camera companies. They seem to dominate the digital market now too.

I had an Olympus OM-1 which was a good smaller SLR film camera that was very popular in the '70s. I have also had some really small 'point and shoot' Olympus film cameras.

I had not heard of this new water proof Olympus. Good.....

I'm gonna keep my eye on this one. Looks like a winner. Thanks for the link. It should retail for $399 according to the google search I turned up.
