Jeff Putnam just tested all these new NW Skagit Spey lines and said they are very hot!!!
They are just the head with welded loops on both ends so you can attach any fly line running line or mono shooting line you prefer.
They come with a CCT200 (Airflo's 20' – 200 grain Custom Cut tip) with a welded loops in a mesh wallet as well. The 20' tip is long enough to make two tips, one shorter tip (6-8'?) for shallow water and longer tip (12 -14'?) for deeper water. You have lots of room to add additional tips.
Some will use T14 for making different length tips too.
Sizes are: (weights and lengths are with tip)
ST6/7 = 520 grns x 38'
ST7/8 = 560 grns x 41'
ST8/9 = 630 grns x 43.5'
ST9/10 = 750 grns x 45'
Cost is $74.95 USD.
Skagit style Spey is great for throwing sink tips with big flies even on smaller Spey rods.
