We have been fishing the shallow clear lagoons by Isla Blanca ~30 minutes north of Cancun for about 15 years now.

It is very shallow with sight casting to baby Tarpon, Permit, Bonefish, Snook, Jacks, Snappers and Barracuda. You can blind cast, like we do for Stripers locally, for Sea Trout, Black Drum and Ladyfish.

Our good friend Marco Ruez has a package that is at the Aquamarine Beach Hotel that is all inclusive with meals, lodging, van transfers to the lagoons, guided skiff fishing with lunch, cold drinks.

5 days fishing and 6 nights lodging with meals is ~$2500USD from the Cancun airport.

This is an area where many get the Grand Slam.

This is an incredible destination especially for top fly fishers like Lee. Your casting and fishing skills do dramatically effect your success here.

When I went there last year with Bill, our group of 6 managed two grand slams. What was really amazing was reading the diary of past fishermen. A couple of weeks before a guy who had never been salt water flyfishing before was there for two days. The first day he had a grand slam; the second day he had a super grand slam (includes a snook). His future salt water fsihing has to be anticlimatic after thant!!!
