Looking to book a trip for the Dean this summer and was wondering how the river has fished over the past 5 years.

Is it worth the trip?

Steelhead in the lower river? or trout in the upper river?

hi Bill,

Steelhead in the lower river.

Hodson's Lodge

Stewart's Lodge (now 'Lower Dean River') 2 camps

These first two companies are kind of booked up 'till the end of time' and are above the falls.

Moose Lake Lodge on the Lower Dean River

Nakia Lodge

These next two are below the falls but if you can get a week in any of them you will be lucky.[/url]

If it's the same Dean I'm thinking...just go to Kiene's & have Putnam show you the photo album. You will question no more....

I managed to get a slot between July 28 - Aug 4th on the lower section but turned it down. To damn expensive $$$$$. I figure/rather I can get 12 or more steelhead drifts fishing the six rivers area with local guides for the price of one trip on the Dean.
