Now that we're in a holding pattern for high flows and about to say farewell to the old man of "05". I thought this would be a fun post to see the last fish pic people have for 2005. This was caught on Dec 12 /14 with guide KK on the Y. What great fisheries we have.!! Bring on the 2005 pics..!! I need some finned eye candy :D

Hey, nice fish Ray. I don't have a pic of my last 05 fish. So here's one of my favorites.

This was infact the LAST fish I caught. Not very spectacular and dwarfed by the mass of my 8wt. Holy Water, 12/22

Wellll, I don't have a picture of my last, but I can say my most memorable fish was catching my first striper on the surface with a deerhair bass bug with my 5 wt. What a kick that was.

My second most memorable fish was a LMB that hit my topwater bass bug 3 times in quick succession on the same cast before I hooked him and brought him in.

The 3rd most memorable fish was probably the LMB that flew about 2 feet through the air to slam into my rapidly retrieved topwater bass bug. That was a fun fish.

Here's hoping everyone catches a bunch of memorable fish in 2006 that will tide them well with memories through the winter. :)

The last fish of 2005 for me were a bunch of feisty suckers.

Striking similarity! :D

My buddy and local guide Ryan Miller.

We had a blast hooking one sucker after another. I never thought about fishing for suckers but that day changed my mind. Those fish pulled hard and we caught about 30 in about two hours, one right after another.

Fun day!

My last fish of 2005 was this Rogue fish. Nothing special about it other than it will be the last fish for 2005. Hopefully my firt fish of 2006 will be tropical salt water.
PM that is a beautiful fish you posted above.

My most memorable but not my last fish of 2005 was the BIG rooster I caught in May of the beach area of Cerralvo Island. The picture doesn't do this fish justice. I only wish I could of held the fish up with the dorsal standing.
Could there be a bigger one out there in 2006

Jay,
Do I remember you saying you took that rooster on an #8 weight?

That'd be quite a fish on a #12 weight.

Adam, Adam, Adam, you need to start reading the posts more closely! It stated the last FISH of 05' :D

I got one of those American Rriver Browns a couple of weeks ago that took me 100 yards down the river. Had to go over a anchored drift boat and would have sworn I had a Salmon on. Pulled that thing in and found a 24" beauty that probably went 6 pounds. Was a little embarrased when I held it up for the drift boat to see.

Great fishing with ya this year, hope to get out more with ya in the coming year! Even if we do only catch those rubber lips!

Looks like my last fish of '05 was a rainbow on the Holy Water that would have probably went 5 lbs. My fishing partner "accidentally" broke the fish off at the bank while "helping" me to land it. After seeing the picture of his last fish for the year in this thread, I have some suspicions about why I got the "assistance" I did.

Had lots of memorable fish and days fishing with friends this year. Although, I think as always it's a couple of fish that I didn't land that are most memorable. Here's a pic from the most unique day I had all year. Fly fished for LMB with a really great guy that new his stuff one day last spring, and we landed about a dozen or so fish just like the one pictured. Fighting bass like that was different to say the least. Made me think of what it must be like to be attacked by a bulldog with narcolepsy: one minute it's ravaging your leg and pulling like a ton of bricks, and then all of a sudden it just gives up and falls asleep. Fun day.

P.S. sweet suckerfish pictures, guys. Nothin' says "pucker up buttercup" like a set of protruding doughnut hole lips. :D

Jay,
You have to get taller or catch smaller fish. Something small enough so the tail isn't dragging on the beach!!! A great pic of a great beast.
