American steelhead

Took a little trip up to the hacthery this morning and was a little suprised to see as many steelhead as i did. It was about 60-40 salmon to steelhead. Saw a few fresh steelies that were chrome bright and went around 10-12 lbs. Must be those washougal strain fish that seem to fly upriver and never get caught. Most were around 7-8 lbs wtih a couple looking to be close to 15-20 lbs. Shows they are in there, you just have to put in the time. Good luck and happy holidays.
