On the water by 6am from whiskey slough, headed south and points in between. Fished the new SA custom tip with a fly called a Cape and Island Minnow in all white (New England fly by Page Rogers). Of the dozen or so fish we caught and lost all grabbed on an erractic jerk with long strips and 2-3 count hang. Good friend broke in his new TCR 890 and Tibor Everglades QC on a small but gratifying linesider. Most fish were small with one 8#er and one bigger lost. Headed back through Victoria Canal and called it a day. Hope this brings confidence for anyone going out this w/e looking to get some grabs.

Thanks for the report Greg, it is very encouraging to know that fish are still being had. Seems pretty consistent among reports that, with the lower water temps, the key is to slow down the retrieve with a lot of looong pauses interspersed between strips. It also seems that the takes are very subtle, requiring one to stay alert and pay attention to slack line. Anyway, good to hear you guys got some. 8)
