Oh man, Adam, you missed out...hahaha! Not only the best Yuba day I've had, but by far the best day of fishing I've ever had. The weather was freezing, but the fish didn't seem to mind. Dr. Pete (a veterinarian my wife works with) and I drifted from the 20 bridge to the dam with Keith Kaneko for 9 or so hours, and had a killer day. For those of you who haven't heard, or haven't read the many praises other board members sing about Keith, he is an amazing guide. Incredibly hardworking, very friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Right now scroll up to the travel tab and click on "Angling on the Fly", get Keith's number and call him to set up a float. It's worth every penny.

First cast, just under the bridge...

Small, yes, but come on...first cast!?! Good way to start off...

A few casts later...

Day's starting off well it seems...

Pete went on a rampage with several fish out of the same run...

After Pete hooked every fish around, we drifted to the next spot...and...

and more...

Again, I can't express how hard working Keith was. He would either row or walk the boat up runs over and over again so we could keep picking up fish...A great guide.

We caught a few fish with some oddities as well. One fish, which I accidentaly deleted the photo of, had a hole punch mark on it's gill plate. Another had somewhat mangled fins, maybe from the high water? Any ideas?

Aside from dragging/rowing us up runs numerous times, Keith had the primo fly selection. All fish were caught on either glo bugs or sz 16 & smaller mayfly nymphs.

And of course, they all swam away to be caught again...

And in the last drift, just before we took out at the dam...

All in all, a fantastic day. A great mixed bag of trout, halfpounders, steelhead, and even some squaw and sucker fish for variety. Also got to see some great birds and some not so great yogurt-head salmon. Yum...

Thanks again Keith for a great day! :D :D :D :D :D

Nice trip Buddy! Good pictures!

I'm glad you had fun out on the Yuba with Keith while I was SLAVING away at Best Buy amongst the crowds of crazy Christmas shoppers. JERK!

Keith does work his butt off for his clients.

Too bad I wasn't there to share the fun with you but I'm glad your buddy got to have some fun.

Maybe next time.......
