I just started fishing for the striped beast. What a kick!! I got a drift boat a while ago and put a little Merc 4 hp on the back just for this sort of thing. I may be the slowest boat in the fleet but it'll get me a few miles down the river and back if the weather is good.
Anyway my first trip last Saturday we got to fish only a short time before being blown off the river but managed one nice fish. (I think it was nice because it was my first on a fly.)
Yesterday was round two and the fishing was better hooked 4 landed 3. Two nice fish landed one came unbuttoned + one dink landed. The skipper (me) was almost thrown overboard. Its not my fault I caught all the fish...but I can live with that.
First picture is my first...The second is the biggest from yesterday.

The first photo is extremely good.

I would like to put it in our Gallery/Stripers.

It is amazing how popular fly fishing for Stripers is getting in California now.

We can float the rivers in the spring and summer and fish the reservoirs and Delta fall and winter.

I guess we are pretty lucky to have all this variety in California with year round fly fishing too.
