I'm looking for a place to fish (public or private water) with my son that will provide us with a lot of actions. I've been bringing him to places where it is tough to catch fish and the style of fishing isn't exactly conducive to his abilities at his age. As a result, he's starting to become bored on these trips.

The type or size of the fish is not really that important, just that we can get some excitement of catching fish so that I can build up his confidence a little bit. He casts well (for a 11 year old), and if we need to walk a bit to get there, that's ok too.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated, here or in Private Message if you are willing to share, but not advertise. :)
I can keep a secret!

Hi Gregg,.... As long as water temps remain warm, any local pond will have something to fish for in it. You might have to do some bait/lure fishin, tho.

Anyway, try the Arden Ponds. Another good one is Rancho Seco. Also, Kiene's has a listing of local warm water ponds, etc., at the shop.... 8) 8)

As a tikeler, Paw always took me to the Sierras. Lil' late for that or a lil' early, depending on how you look at it. Small streams. Know of some good ones, at least they were good a million years ago. Big fish was 12", but lots of feesh. Very fun. If you would like to know of the streams, message me and I'll give you the details.

Hey Gregg

You should go out with Dave Armosido some time.
He has two rivers that he guides on that are open all year.
Jason has gone with Dave to both and had a blast.

Take care-
Rob from beautiful Utah :)
