Just got back from Eagle Lake. The fishing was on and off, because the weather changes very quickly up there. I was using Jay Fair's material to tie woolly buggers size 8. I found action with most of his colors. All in all...it was a good trip.

I had good luck with burnt orange and dark olive. When the bite was on...they weren't too picky!

Wow, very nice rainbow! Were you using Fair's "shuck" material for the body?

Yes I was using Jay Fair's short shuck, hackle, and marabou. His material is the best...excellent quality...and he really knows that lake and what those fish like!

Mario, I agree, I really like his material as well. Excellent quality and he offers marabou colors you don't often find from other suppliers.

Jay Fair spent years working with Veniards dye from England to get his special colors. This is a very expensive process.
He has brought his family into the materials business now so all this knowledge will not be lost if Jay ever dies.
I think Jay Fair and Joe Shirshac will live to be over 100 because they still have the desire to get up every day and go fly fishing.
