Took the kids out for some fishing at the bridge on Putah Creek just below the dam. Kids are 5 and 7 so we made it a short one at about 1 hr of fishing at about 4 pm. Hooked seven native bows, five to hand between 12 and 16 inches.
My son (7) got to fight several of the fish, including the 16 and my daughter (5) was a master with the net. All released unharmed.
It is great when you tell the kids it's time to go and they say "NO, we want to stay here!" :D :D :D
I can still remember fishing Putah Creek 6 years ago with my son in one of those kiddy back packs and trying to convince him he was having a good time
Nothing beats family & fishing.
All fish took a size 22 red midge pupa right down in the moss and weeds.
