Ok, I know some of you have been using the Pentax Optio WP. I have a few questions to ask about the camera. How many of you have taken this camera down to 4'. I read that the camera is rated for 4' @ 30 seconds. What happens if it goes under for more than 30 seconds and to a greater depth.

I looking to purchase one for some underwater shots of permit and trevally's in Australia - sort of like "Dancing with the Wolves" I would also like to get a photo of a big hammer head. I do have a shot of a salt water croc about 16'. As soon as I can figure out the steps to posting, it will be up on this site

I read that the camera can be immersed for any amount of time. It cannot run for more than 30 seconds while underwater. Possibly a temperature displacement issue.

You guys have your models and facts wrong.

Pentax makes two water resistant/proof models.

The Optio 43WR, which is water resistant, not water proof.

The Optio WP, which is water proof for 30 minute down to 1.5 meters.

My buddy Gregg took his WP down further than 1.5 meters while on his trip to hawaii and the camera was fine. I would not advise to test the camera all of the time but once and a while it should work just great. Gregg's underwater pictures looked nice. The WP takes some nice pictures.
