Hi Folks,
I figured I would post this here also as I know you guys travel around alot. I have a wedding to go to in Naples in October. Of course, I will be smuggling a fly rod or two and am curious if anyone has used a guide out there they would recommend.
I've been researching, but always nice to get a recommendation first hand.
Thanks in advance,
Paul

This is where Doug Swisher lives.

I would call or email the Sage rod company and ask them for the name of a good fly fishing guide there.

October is a good time.

Hey Bill,
Thanks for the tip. I actually found another group out there, Everglades anglers, that do guided trips, etc. Looks like there is even some decent shots at snook from the beach!

I'll post a report when I get back.
BTW, they say their fishing mostly with EP fiber style flies. Anyone on the board mess around with that material much?

Hi Paul -

I've used the EP silkey fiber , it's ok to deal with . I use flat waxed nylon to bind it down , standard high/low tie . The nice thing about it is .... you can tye the fly long , and taper it w/ your scissors to keep the shape right if you need to match 'short' baitfish . Go sparse with it , you won't need a lot to get a good profile .

Good luck on the trip !!
