I fished below the Hiway 20 bridge around 4:30 yesterday and did well. No luck with large hoppers, but they started to notice a small hopper. Still, no takes. The action started when I switched to a dry caddis. A lot of takes (and misses, alas!) but did managed to land a few nice rainbows.
Around 6pm I thought I'd see if there was any dry fly action at Sycamore Ranch. I stayed until 8:15 and only saw one riser. No strikes at all - should have stayed upstream! But I did see Keith Kaneko float by - he and his clients sounded happy with their day.
