I've been hitting the American everyday and it seems things are picking up! Every day I have been picking up fish in the 5-7 lb. range but tonight I finally got one worth writing about. I picked up a 27 lber. on a chartuese and white clauser sorry no pic's but fortunately had my boga with me to land, weigh and release it.

Not many fly fishers will ever land a striper over 20 pounds so you have been blessed by the fish god.
That gives us all hope.
I think with the shad slowing down the stripers might get hungry again?
August/September might bring some bigger fish in the lower American River.

You have now motivated me to get off my butt and into the water to try and get some Stripers. Congrats on the 27 lber!

FlyGolf...Boy Howdy! What kind of rig were you using? About the only thing that will top that is a hole-in-1! Keep landing those bad boys! Thom
I've got the hole-in-one but no Stripers of that size. Nice catch FG :)
