This doesn't really pertain to fly fishing other than a chance to comment, it might be an opportunity to make it harder to snag salmon in the Feather and American... :!: :?:

DFG Announces Schedule for Public Meetings to Receive Angler Input on
Hook and Weight Restrictions of the Freshwater Fishing Regulations

The California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) will hold three public
meetings to receive public comments and input on freshwater fishing
regulations relating to Hook and Weight Restrictions (Section 2.10 of
title 14 California Code of Regulations as found in the 2005 Freshwater
Sport Fishing Regulations booklet). The meeting format will include a
short presentation by DFG followed by a public input session. All
proposals will be evaluated and those deemed potentially effective will
be submitted to the Fish and Game Commission for review to possibly go
into effect in 2006. The meeting dates and locations are:

Aug. 10, 2005, 7-10 p.m., Wildlife and Inland Fisheries Division
