There are several choices for those of us who live in Sacramento:

Go to a high elevation (6000'+) area that is ~20 degrees cooler than here on the valley floor.

Go to the Pacific coast where it is 20 degrees cooler too. It is 59 degrees in Fort Bragg right now: 1:58pm Sat, July 23, 2005. It ios 101 in Chico right now. Thats 40 degrees......wow.

Go to Montana or Alaska. It is 60 degrees in Cordova, AK right now.

Anyone that stays here in August who is retired is 'plumb crazy'.

Seattle, WA = 70

Anchorage, AK = 65

Heck, Chico is cool. Here in Fresno, it's a toasty 106 right now. Yesterday broke our 10th straight day of 100 plus degree day. It was 99.
I'm loving the heat. I just talked to a friend of mine back in Monterey and it's around 67 degrees. That's almost 40 degrees difference.
It's nice to have a pool but the water is 92.

Fishing has slowed down but the lake crowd is scareing my carp.
