Does anyone have any experience with square stern canoes? I usually fish tail water fisheries and thought a canoe with a small motor might be just the thing for running back up river when they turn the water on and also eliminate the need for shuttles.
How do they handle compared to a regular canoe? I have been looking at a model from Old Town that L.L. Bean carries and just hoping for some feedback.
Thanks....

Hi Blackgrass,..... Don't have any experience myself but, if live in or around Sacramento, you could get some first hand experience at Adventure Sports. They specialize in canoes/kayaks and are very helpful in the info department.... 8) 8) 8)

The only thing I would be careful of is standing and fly casting. Canoes are not as stable as a flat bottom boat.

I think that the only limiting thing about canoes and kayas is the fact that standing in them to see down in the water and casting is not easy.

It comes in 13', 15' and 16'.
