Greetings Anglers -

I just returned from Tarpon Cay Lodge (TCL) on the northwestern coast of the Yucatan (check out my trip report - http://www.kiene.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?t=1123) The fishing was so incredible that Bill Kiene and I have decided to make a "last minute" trip to visit their other destination in Campeche (further down the coast).

The owner of TCL, Marco Ruz, explained to us that this region is at least 10 times larger and is another incredible fishery for baby Tarpon - 10 to 60 lbs. What really got our attention is the opportunities to sightcast to cruising tarpon on the flats (like bonefishing, except the fish are Tarpon!) In addition, like TCL there are many mangrove-lined lagoons, creeks, and bays.

If you are interested in joining us on this angling adventure, here are the trip details:

Thanks again and we look forward to our travel to Campeche with you.

Hi Keith

Is the spot still open? If so, how are the bonefishing opportunities? Also, I am a single. Will I be able to partner up with someone?

Thanks

Keith Y.

ps. I am not sure if u remember me but you guided me down the American about 2 or 3 years for Shad and 1 steelhead.

Hi Keith!!!

Great to hear from you! Of course I remember you! - that was quite a surprise to hook into that Steelie! I hope all is well with you... are you still in SoCal? Still fly fishing the in-shore down there?

Anyway, yes we still do have a spot available for you on this awesome trip. It would be great to travel with you! The anglers going are great people - you would have an excellent and fun time. As for you being a single... no problem! Actually, you and I could partner up for the hotel room.

As for the fishing,... this fishery is world-class for baby Tarpon (10 to 35+ pounds). There are other species to fish for as well - Snook, Bones, and Permit. However, the sheer density and quality of the Tarpon fishing usually is the focus. I always have one rod set up for Bones/Permit, just in case we come across them on the flats.

Well, I hope you can make it! If you want more details (airlines, etc...) or just want to catch up, drop me an email (Keith@AnglingOnTheFly.com) or call me at (916) 539-3474. Thanks again and hope to see you soon.

Regards,
Keith
