Caples this morning

Fished Caples this morning 5:30 a.m. hoping to catch a Mack on the fly, no luck. The Fishing Buddie spotted most fish in the 25-30 Ft. range. I ended up switching rods to the sly line with burnt orange bugger and picked up 10 or so trout in the 10 up to 17 inch range. Mix of browns and rainbows. Quite a few anglers but only saw 1 other fish caught on a spinner.

All of those lakes off Hwy 88 are my favorites... :D :D . Thought there might still be some ice on Caples, tho.... :? If you were tubin', betcha had to wear your longies under outer wear/gear.... :roll: :roll: :P

I think that fishing the trout lakes is probably the smartest way to go right now.

Ice out was just before this last storm came through. It was beautiful and really not that bad. I left lake by 12 pm. and the wind just started to pick up. My brother went to Red the day before and did much better but all the fish seem to be on the west side of the lake.
