Bass topwater in Chico is heating up.

Gregg and his Father joined myself and Ryan Miller from Fish First to catch some bass on poppers.

We had a fun night catching bass on top.

Gregg was a little HUNGRY!

I didn't shave before fising

We had a good time.

I love summer surface fishing for bass, TONS OF FUN!

Nice Adam, very nice! Is that your pram your sitting in?

I wish the fish in my pond would start looking at the surface. I can get a couple of Bluegill to suck in a dry fly once in a while but the bass are not cooperating. I have been getting a few Bass on a Muddler Minnow and most of the Gills are hitting a Carpet Caddis Emerger. Maybe they will start looking up today!

MSP,

Have you tried a small blacl popper or hairbug right at dark PM?

Put it out there and don't move it at all.

Maybe twitch it it some the last half hour of light.

Maybe they don't get much food off the top?
