Yep,... Tha's high water all right..... But, just to provide some perspective, here.... During the '97 high water year I was told by a local that one of the earth movers in that gravel operation was washed away, upturned (with the tires exposed) and began washing downtsream. If it were to have cleared DaGuerre Dam, it would've posed a danger to downstream bridge abuttments not to mention potential damage to the dam. It was sunk by shooting out the tires and was recovered later.... The 1955, '64 and '86 flood years were even higher than that....

One of the characteristics of Rivers that've been scoured, like the Yuba and Eel Rivers, is that the malority of the run-off occurs in a large wave, moving large objects easily....

Cool picture but very depressing.

At least we can look forward to new exciting pieces of water when the flows come down.

That submerged rock between the trees looks like a good lye...where'd I put my wading staff...?
