I am hoping that we can see some macro insect pictures up here this summer.
I thought it might help to indentify many of these different insects we run across out there while fishing.
I will have to send an email to Michelle from the NCFFB to jump start this catagory.
I think the Gordon L. has some Oregonian bug pictures too.

Really beautiful shots and great idea for a category. I'll post a series I shot recently on the lower Sacramento of a caddis who had just crawled out of the current and up onto a rock to molt. It happens fast! Up here in the "real" northern California (read that "still cold and sometimes still snowy) we're still waiting for spring but things are slowly warming up. Keep those nice shots coming!

Here's some of the limited selection of shots I have right now. Later on in the season I will take some time to hunt and photograph our most popular fly fishing insects. I will not have the quality or selection of Michelle but I will offer what I can.

Great pictures Adam! I especially like that "light up Skwalla Adult" photo. Is that the typical coloring of those things? Seems like a yellow Stimulator in the right size would be the perfect imitation? What hook size would you say that one in the picture is? Or better yet, could you please tell me what hook model and size you usually use for these? Thanks!

Mike, I like a TMC 2302 or 2312 hook in size 8 & 10. The most common coloration for skwalla bodies is olive. I like a goldish olive color to a darker golden color. The majority of the body is darker than that lit up thorax area in the picture. The light was shining just right, I got lucky to take such a neat looking picture.
