Hey, guys...

It's that time of year again, waters are warming up and the fishing is good. This is the time of year to catch big fish as they start moving up into the shallows to spawn. April is a tricky month, you don't get the numbers, but you have shots at river bass up to 5 pounds (roughly 22 inch fish).

Yesterday, I took Jeff Clarkson (of Austin) on the San Marcos river. We had an exceptionally crazy day. The water is still raging at 700 cfs. The guadalupe bass fishing was moderate, not as good as it can be later in the season, but the largemouth and guadalupe/smallmouth hybrid fishing was excellent. We hooked 4 fish of 19 inches (3 lbs) and 1 of 18 inches and had other follows. Also we caught maybe 15 other fish of 10-15 inches.

Other than catching the first 19 inch fish on a popper, we fished the rest of the day with a big chartreuse bunny leech with lead eyes. The bass were nailing it on the sink.

If anyone wants to book a trip, call or email...

$300 for 1 person
$450 for 2 (2 guides, 2 canoes...works better that way, better fishing)
lunch and drinks provide, full day canoe float...

thanks,
Joey

I would love to go to Texas and float these rivers for bass with Joey.
