Developed by the late Dave Howard, this is one of the most popular shad flies on the American River.

Davo was a great friend. I miss him a lot. I can still hear him say "What the HECK! Over" every time I missed a striper grab. Our shad trips were hours of big smile and laughs. Man we had fun! The Wet Pinky is a terrific fly.
Cheers, Ken

Dave was real speical and was very good for the sport of fly fishing.

He helps lots of people become better fly fishers.

He always had that little infectious grin too.

Dave Howard was an exceptional guy, he was the only flyfishing guide I ever hired. And thanks to him I have felt many fish on the other end of my line. He was the kind of guy that immediately made you feel at ease. It was painful to hear of his passing.
