Me being the Blind Squirrel of course. Hit the Flying Carpet Emerger during the BWO hatch today on the "A". I quess they do work. Hopefully this is the beginning but Bill says the flows are going back up so who knows.

BTW - the river was in great shape today around 2,400 cfs. Good luck this weekend for those heading out.

Great job Mike! That's the ultimate -- catching a fish on a fly you designed yourself. Congratulations on a successful pattern! :D

Yeah, the flying carpet gets another "A" (American River) steelie.

Good for you MSP.

Thanks for showing me your flying carpet at the shop.

Good tie, Both myself and the "A" steelies think so.

did you post a pic of the flying carpet and recipe and I missed it or are you holding out for the fly swap? Maybe you can put up a pic of the fly that is so heralded in your post for the viewing public please?

that is a great pic that you posted by the way

It's really nothing fancy. Just a Pheasant Tail type fly on a scud hook with a CDC wing.
