Hey David,.... Those flies look a lot like a variant of an Olive Beadhead Wooly Bugger.....

Actually, those are very good looking patterns. 8) 8) I haven't even started, yet. Maybe I'll just dip into my existing stock of.... (Ooooh..... nevermind)

David...I only counted 7! Hopefully, the other 6 haven't been lost in the American...Here's a thought about the fly swap submissions...I don't have digital camra capabilities but once you get everyone's flies do you have a away of posting pictures of all the flies for public viewing? Might be a nice way of encouraging future swappers.
I'm tying size 8 Ammonite Nymph's...

The easiest way I have found to create flies for a swap is to tie a male and a female, leave them in the room alone for a while, and when you return :D That's Mom and Dad on the right! Have fun guys.

MSP, ur too funny. Those flies look great guys. I started refining my pattern last night. Got it all figured out. Haven't had time to tie worth nothing this week. Hopefully get them done and maybe a picture taken by Saturday.

Darian - they are a little more involved than the BHOWB (guess what the Easter Bunny is bringing you ?? ) .

SullyTM -nope , I haven't lost any yet .... just so much room on my hand . I was planning to put up photos of all the flies as they come in .

MSP- that trick never works for me . I've tried it with Beer , they just evaporate faster :P . Nice emergers , by the way ....

Jgoding - I'm BREATHLESSLY awaiting your #2 Siliskin Pheasant tails ...

Take your time , boys - it's supposed to be fun !! D.J.L.

Hey David,

I tried that with beer also, but couldn't leave them alone long enough :P

Hey David,

That would be a #2 sili skin minnow eating the PT....

Gonna be a good caddis pattern I'm hoping.......have to try it out on them half pounders

Funny post about the family of flies MSP.

I think Sully TM has a great idea about posting a picture for all board members to see. I would be interested to see what the final collection looks like.

Alright I'll grab up one of those spots. I had resisted because I would have had to clean off my tying bench. It was been cluttered for some time and I have been to lazy to clean it off. :)

Maybe this fly swap will kick me into fly tying mode.

Sign me in :!:

Man, you guys don't waste any time. I haven't even settled on a pattern yet and you guys' flies are already mating.

By the way, it goes without saying (which is why I forgot to mention it) that your flies (David and MSP) look GREAT! (Hairstacker starts to worry he'll have to tie 75 in order to cherry pick 12.... )

Mike,..... In order to solve the dilema in choice, redefine a spun deer hair, floater/diver bass BUG as a nymph :!: :!:

Darian , I have a new Dragonfly Nymph that has a spun-deerhair thorax and rubber legs .... It floats but dives on a sink-tip
The best part ?? It's a size #4 , 3xL and as big around as your little finger ! Will send a few w/ the Sardina , D.J.L.

I got home at midnight last night but cranked out my first submittable fly.... Have two prototypes I'll show as well, but I think it will be a good pattern.... so just 12 more winners to go....

Try to get a pic of it if I can....

That is a good looking fly. And I whole heartedly agree with you, biots are a pain to work with but the results are usually worth it.... I have 3 flies done... with another one in the works.....
