Ok I fished the Feather on Saturday. There are a lot of fish in the system. Most are concentrated above 70 bridge, along with most of the fishermen! We saw a lot of fish! One of the guys in the party landed a 31 incher!! Every bit of 10 lbs (a monster for the feather). I hooked 4 and landed only 1 22 incher. Most fish we saw were between 2 - 6 lbs.

I fished the American today (Monday) with another friend. It was his first day Spey fishing! He picked it up fairly quickly. We fished Sunrise above and below the island. Was slow all day. I got 2 solid hookups, and landed neither of them... My friend was happy just being on the water. I did see some familiar faces! It was good seeing and talking to old fishing friends that I haven't seen since last season! A Father son Spey fishing team did hookup and land at least 2 really nice fish that I saw.

I saw a lot more Spey guys on the river today in one day then I've ever seen! It must be getting popular.

Anyway It was slow but fun. I'll see people on the river next Sunday!

We had lots of people in today who have been catching steelhead in the upper section of the American River from the hatchery downstream to the Sunrise Bridge.

We had a US Marine in the shop today from Edwards AFB down south. He caught his first west coast steelhead today on the American River. He said he was able to look at our web site when he was stationed in Afganistan working on helocopters. Pretty cool............
