Herb Burton's guys are skating Muddlers on top in the lower Trinity River.

Some friends have already caught fish on the middle to lower Klamath River, but it's not that good yet.

The lower Rogue River should be good now for Half-pounders. The middle Rogue River should be good in October for larger "Summer Steelhead." Jeff Putnam will be guiding/teaching up there.

Then you have the Umpqua, Deschutes, Grand Ronde, Jon Day....British Columbia.

Below the first dams on most of our Valley rivers, there should be half-pounders and resident rainbow trout now.

AM and PM is best.

For Fall Steelheading, all you need is a fly rod, a floating line, a leader as long as your rod, and a wet fly.

It is best when the sun is not on the water where your fly is drifting. "Chasing the shade."
