Gordon, those are some nice looking flys. Thank you for all the pictures in the pass of steelhead.
Me and a fishing buddy will be heading up that way mid October to fish the Rogue.

I am thinking around October 25. Thanks for all the reports over the years. I tied up one of your nymphs several years ago and it got fish. I got a couple out of the back of the guide boat one day and he wanted to know what I had tied on. I told him it was the Langenbeck Special.

October is a prime month for the Middle Rogue River.

For the last 3 decades, we have been having group trips to Morrison's Lodge on the Rogue River near Grants Pass.
They have a nice large old lodge and some nice cabins right on the river.
Morrison's was always famous for its meals as well.
We liked the multi-day packages where you stay in the cabins, eat in the lodge, and fish the area daily in a drift boat.
They have good guides for fly fishing and can accommodate all levels of anglers.

Veteran fly fisher, Terry Thomas, at Fly Fishing Specialties in Sacramento, has been on that trip many times.

They have a multi-day trip from their lodge down through the canyon, stopping at other remote lodges for 4 days.
I always wanted to take a group on that trip, which is best around the first of September for half-pounders.
