I thought the article was not super clear. So these aren’t trucked fish these are fish that ‘escape’ trucking and run down to Shasta, live their life and the. Run up from Shasta to spawn?

They release King salmon, Silver salmon, and Kokanee salmon into our lakes/reservoirs, and I would imagine they migrate up the

tributaries to spawn.

Over 100 years ago, before the dams, salmon and steelhead would run all the way up the longer California rivers to spawn.

There was an experiment to plant winter run smolts in the McCloud River to monitor how they moved through the system. Those fish ended up in the lake and returned as adults.
