Jeff is the master caster, Bob is the top Spey rod designer and Steve is a fly line wizard.

Putnam has moved up to southern Oregon on the middle Rogue River to be able to guide and teach fly fishing.

Naturally, Jeff's main love is Spey / Two-handed casting and fishing.

Many of my old friends are up that way too, like my mentor, veteran fly fisher, industry Rep, guide, and instructor, Al Perryman, rod

builder Gary Anderson, Forum member Gordon Langenbeck, fly reel mechanic Bill Archuleta, guide Charlie Costner and more.

I know at least 90% of the people you listed here. Either took classes, bought equipment or was guided by them.
All are great people. I owe them deep respect and gratitude for how I was treated and what they passed on to me.
Thank you

Thanks Mike,

I think that the onset of Spey/Two-Handed fly casting/fly fishing was one of the best things to happen to the PNW.

At the beginning, ~30 years ago, Spey was poo-pooed by lots of old fly fishers in Northern Cal.

Then many of them tried it and just loved it.

We were blessed in Sacramento to have the wonderful Lower American River right in town.

Plus Jeff Putnam got into Spey during the beginning years in Sacramento.
