Mike grew up on the Lower American River with fishing as his main passion.

His dad, Max Koe, is one of my favorite old friends and customers.

Mike guides anglers with very sophisticated methods using mostly artificial lures.



Mike can guide fly fishers but they need their own tackle.

He can put you on the fish but you need to catch them.


My old friend Bruce Porter, a LAR drift boat guide, says Mike can change your outlook on the Lower American River fisheries.

Mike and Bruce found a large school of Shad yesterday with Mike's jet boat and really hammered them.

Went out with Mike Koe today on the American. Had a wonderful outing with around 40 plus Shad caught .
Bill thank you for the tip on using Mike as our guide ! Mike is very knowledgeable of the American and all it's secrets !!
