Justin Menendez has a very popular YouTube fishing channel.

He fishes everything well but this video is fly fishing in the shallows.

You need a small Ultra Light Super Skiff or stand up Kayak or Stand UP Paddle Board to fish in a foot of water.

Here's a tip....saltwater fish are measured to the fork,not overall length :)

In Florida we measure "total length".

Florida Fish and Wildlife:

"Total Length is measured from the most forward point of the head, with the mouth closed, to the farthest tip of the tail with the tail compressed or squeezed, while the fish is lying on its side."

We have a lot of big Snook in Florida because we have a "slot limit".

Limit on Snook: One per day and have to be over 28" and under 32"......called a "Slot Fish"....but we don't keep any.

We have a lot of Tarpon of all sizes:

Recreational Bag Limit:

•1 per harvester per year. $50 harvest
tag required. Vessel limit of one fish.
Harvest tag can only be used when fish
is retained for potential IGFA record.

Remarks

•Tarpon over 40 inches must remain in
the water during release. Spearing and
snatch hooking prohibited. Bottom
weighted jigs prohibited in Boca Grande
Pass. See: MyFWC.com/Fishing/
Saltwater/Recreational/Tarpon for
additional information.

**So nobody ever takes or kills them.

Thanks Bill for the correction re length measurement of fish in Florida....out of interest,is this duplicated in other U.S.States?
Everywhere else in the world it's "to the fork measurement" as far as I'm aware.
