Yesterday my wife and I went to Oroville for lunch at our favorite Chinese restaurant. Wong Tong Lo is the oldest Chinese restaurant in California and by far our favorite.
After lunch we always take a look at the hatchery and see if there are any salmon in the river. Happy to say "Yes" there are salmon stacking up at the diversion dam. There were also signs saying the spillway ladder would open Sept.15.
Another sign announced the Salmon Festival on the fourth Saturday of September. That'll be the 24th.
Even though the warm water in the river has put the bite off the salmon are still coming up .
