1495 1/2 DA made in USA with spare spool, minimal paint loss, straight and smooth. Ready to use.

Sold

Saltrout reel USA with bulldog logo, some paint loss with brass showing. Mid arbor daisy pattern. Left hand. Straight and smooth.
Somebody used mono on this reel but not on a fishing rod of any kind. Some post wear but not the posts you would use with a fly line.

Sold

Rod bag for 4 piece nine footer. Red, high quality. Looks familiar but I’m not sure what brand.

Sold

Very good prices.....

The Pflueger 'Medalist' 1495 1/2 fly reel is a good size for a #7 or 8 line fly rod.

They have a drag like a wagon brake, smooth but not to powerful.

They don't have a heavy drag so they would not be good for big salmon but great for most species.

They are fun on an old fiberglass fly rod or split cane/bamboo.

You can buy lots of parts for the Pflueger 'Medalist' fly reels at "One-Pfoot" company.

https://onepfoot.com/

They have counter balances to make them run smoother at high speeds.

They also have machines metal drag disc for RH/LH convertibility.

Here is an article I wrote some time back on the iconic Pflueger Medalist fly reels.

Here is another really great web page on the old Medalists:

Pflueger 'Sal-Trout' fly reel has a click-n-pawl simple light drag.

These reels were produced in Akron, OH between 1934 and 1970.

I think they came in two sizes: 1554 for #4/5/6 lines and 1558 for 7/8 line sizes.

Lots of picture in Google images........fun on an old fiberglass fly rod or split cane/bamboo.
