Monthly Spey Casting Clinics at Kienes Fly Shop

An introductory Spey casting clinic is offered on the second Saturday of each month at Kiene's Fly Shop in Sacramento.

It is approximately 4 hours in length with an hour in the shop for orientation and then 3 hours on the American River at the Gristmill access point.

The cost is $80, and the clinic is limited to four students.

One of my best friends and fishing partners, John Hogg, has been teaching fly casting for the Granite Bay Flycasters and Kiene's for a

long time now. I have volunteered to help in the past when John gets a lot of students at one time. He is an FFF Certified fly casting

instructor and we are both passionate about helping folks become better casters. To learn how or to improve your Spey or

two-handed fly casting getting some instruction at the "get go" is important. Timing of these classes right now is perfect as September,

October and November are the best months for Fall Steelhead.
