Yes, we're all getting old and it's nice to have some one around who can help you out if you get in trouble or sick.
I'll be 75 in a couple of months, you said you were 77. I bet there's a bunch of "Old" guys out there that would jump at the chance to go on a FF adventure just one more time. Put me down for any of those GT or Permit trips to the Seychelles.

You've got to know a bunch of old guys like us that would want to go. I hesitate to go it alone with some group of "youngsters" but it would be great to fish with a bunch of guys from this board, yourself included. :)

Health permitting I could be ready in an hour or two.

Sound exciting Tony......

I think I am just too old to go on any big trips.

I am really enjoying all this fishing in Florida though.

Tony

I go on such a trip every year to Loreto.....Most of the guys are around 75 and the other half are in the middle 50s....I can tell you 100% us old guys rule.......LOL

By the way Loreto has a nice hospital-ambulances-choppers and small jets plus most of the big air lines now to take care of us old farts

The Seychelles is a very different fishing trip to Loreto....

Dynaflow, The Seychelles cost about 10 times more then a trip to mexico from the USA. to each his own:)

Carl I wasn't referring to the cost (although this is a factor) I was talking about the actual fishing which is mostly wading :)
Cheers

Yes, that wading for big gamefish like GTs and Roosters with the wind and waves is way to much for me now at 77.

At 50 years old I could have tried it............

Haa! Bill. I got you thinking about it again :)
I bet if we tied a rope around each of us we could fumble across those flats and still get the job done.

I really don't want to start selling off my big rods and reels too soon :)

Tony.........you remind me of some of my wonderful old customers who went on group trip through the shop into their 80s.

Dick Hume and Tak Kato both come to mind.

They were going on our hosted group trips into their mid-80s.

Like you, they were true "Outdoorsmen".

All my old timers have passed away now but they had wonderful lives in America.

They lived through the Great Depression and World War II.

There are a lot of reasons they were called "The Greatest Generation"...............

Bill I was in Miami for work recently
Sadly didn't have time to fish but could tell why you love it there
I'm fortunate to be getting back to sun valley Idaho for July and August
Lots of older guys love the s turns in a tube as it's low impact, my knee isn't great for hiking and I love getting in there with dried and emergers and the challenge of figuring out the hatch

I quit doing the surf at 50 . I spent a day bombing away in 6+ foot slop , and did OK as far as Fish count went . As the session dragged on , I found myself getting more and more angry ..... couldn't really sort why ? Thought long and hard that Night - came to the conclusion that , while I could still physically do it .... it wasn't fun anymore .

I'll stick to Kayaking to my Mangrove spots , and getting out to wade .

Even over on our Pacific coast you can get beat up by the bigger waves when you are not paying attention.

Today, retired in Florida, we look at the weather, Monday through Friday, looking for the days with low wind, like 10 mph.

It is no fun going out in a boat, fly fishing, in wind that is 15 mph plus.

Lots of those who are working have to go out on the weekends and holidays with many other anglers and take what they get.
