Reel is in excellent condition with only very minor wear through normal use...Has been used very little in number of years....
Mechanically it is exc+. Single screw lineguard - easily reversed as are the pawls for RH or LH use. Currently setup for LH retrieve....

Reel hold up to a DT7+50, or DT6+70.

About 40 years ago I had a Hardy "Princess" entourage?

2 frames and 7 spools in total.

Local top fly fisher Walt Bennett had this set up so I copied him.

It was for my 6 weight trout outfit and 7 weight light steelhead outfit.

For trout lake fishing from a float tube or pram I had a selection of weight forward 6 fly lines.

I had a WF6F and 3 different sink rate WF6S full sinking lines.

For my Fenwick FF85 I had a WF7F, a WF7F/S sink-tip and a spool for shooting heads for Steelhead.


The Hardy Princess could be used on a lot of rods.

A long single hand #5 or #6 line fly rod................9'6' or 10' rods.

On a 11' #3 or 4 line Switch or Trout Spey.

On a 9' #7 weight rod for Bass?




When the Sage company had Hardy make them the 500 series I sold the Princess reel and spools.

I had every Sage 500 except he 509.


When you are working in a fly shop the companies give you huge discounts so you can afford to fish with their products.

So we were always getting the latest tackle and sell our older stuff.
