I looked at the CDEC website for Yuba flows and see that the Smartville flow is currently about 700cfs while the flow at the Marysville station is about 400cfs. I don't usually don't look at the Smartville gauge so I'm puzzled by the lower flow downriver at Marysville compared to the Smartville gauge. Is 300cfs being diverted or percolating into the ground by the time the river hits Marysville?

Yes, there is a canal just to the north side of the river at DeGaurre dam that feeds gravel pits and the fields north of Hwy.20.
Go to Google maps and find the dam and it's easily seen.

This time of year they use the Brownsville ditch to flood rice fields for waterfowl.

Thanks Ralph

Rather than burn the rice stubble in the Fall, today they flood it all winter in some places.
