Just wondering. I'll start out, and say mine is probably the Skwala hatch on the lower Yuba river.

I tell my sons my favorite beer is the one in front of me. So I have to say my favorite hatch is the one going off when I am on the river. Skwalas, Golden Stones, Hex, PMDs...they are all good. So many fond memories

I haven't been able to predict when they occur, but I was lucky enough once to encounter a heavy emergence of caddisflies on the lower Yuba in the stretch I was fishing. All of a sudden there were spurts of water shooting into the air as if a pod of whales were holding below me. Put on a gold bead hare's ear and did the down and across. Hard grabs on every cast, had my 4X tippet broken off several times on both the takes and when the fish were on. Glorious.

I cannot say there is a favorite but there was one magical evening hatch of stoneflies on the North Fork Feather that remains with me. One of those: Every cast came with a strike evenings....and it just went on and on.
