We prefer the Pacific coast from Monterey Bay north up through Oregon and Washington.
There can be salmon in many larger rivers near the ocean.
Lots of surf fishing, crabbing, clamming and berry gathering.
The first choice for many is the higher elevations (~8,000') in the mountains for trout.
This would be smaller streams and lakes.
Backpacking and horse pack trips are a good choice too.
Just heading north can be a good idea too......
*We have been having some extremely hot weather this summer.
